Moose Lake Christian Craft Village invites you to experience the old west with the sights, sounds and flavors of the National Day of the Cowboy

July 22, 2017   10:00 AM-4:00 PM

Join us in celebrating 13th National Day of the Cowboy and the cowboy heritage in Indiana as we relive the old west with cowboys, cowgirls, horses and bucking bulls. See Soarin’ Hawks presentation of their birds of prey and Jefferson the bald eagle! There will be cowboy music & entertainment on the village stage, local artisans will be there with their handmade items, along with our chainsaw carvers displaying their unique talents. A new feature this year is the Amish driven Percheron horse drawn wagon ride through Moose Lake woods. There are many new attractions in the woods like “Alligator Island”, a Native American camp plus much more so don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a historic wagon ride as well as searching for those new attractions both big and small.

For the buckaroos, there will also be special crafts and games, stick horse races, horse rides, the Moose Trax Train, playing in the newly expanded children’s playground and meeting “Moses the Moose” our newest member of the village.

Mackey’s General Store, with the region’s largest selection of Amish jellys, jams, jar goods, meats, cheeses and unique gifts and “Café Moose”, voted one of the top four dining experiences in the region, will also be open.

Or you may want to leisurely walk around the village and enjoy the flavor of the Old West and the village itself and don’t forget to wear your western duds!

Indiana is proud to be the 12th state to have passed the National Day of Cowboy into law, on February 14, 2017. NDOC board member, Jerry Betley will be at this event to answer any questions you might have about this effort to create a truly national holiday in recognition of our cowboy culture and pioneer heritage.
