The National Day of the Cowboy will allow Hyatt Lost Pines guests the occasion to get in touch with their inner cowboy or cowgirl throughout the weekend of July 25-27. Friday, July 25:
Ol’ Bastrop button-making, backyard games challenge, country freeze dancin’, Old McDade’s family bingo, Western face painting, s’mores and family movie (Toy Story)
Saturday, July 26, the Official National Day of the Cowboy:
Horse-drawn wagon rides, cowboy hat design, wood branding ($20), cowboy hat design ($5), cowboy leather art, roping lessons, mechanical bull, horseshoeing demonstration, horseshoe tournament, s’mores and family movie (Toy Story 2)
Sunday, July 27:
“Meet the Longhorn” mascots, cowboy scavenger hunt, “Wild, Wild West” photo fun room ($10), washers tournament, farm animal ceramic art ($5), boot-scootin’ and two-stepping lessons and line dancing, s’mores and family movie (Toy Story 3)
Additional Western weekend activities include horseback and pony rides, horse camp, archery and skeet shooting at Renegade Trailhead at Hyatt Lost Pines (please call 512-308-4860 for information, schedules and reservations). Activities are subject to change, and additions may be made.
