July 26th at 5:00 p.m. at the Library: Gordie Peer’s “The Cowboy’s Past Time: Life out of the Saddle” To Kick-off the National Day of the Cowboy festivities, Gordie Peer will discuss ways that Cowboys would entertain themselves and hone their skills, when not in the saddle.  These activities include Cowboy Poetry, making and repairing equipment, Whip-cracking, and Whittling.  This program is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the Okeechobee Friends of the Library.
