49th Annual Lost Dutchman Days

A small 3-inch announcement in the November 27, 1964 issue of the Apache Sentinel, the Chamber of Commerce announced to the citizens of Apache Junction that the very first Lost Dutchman Days was coming, and will be held on January 23. From that one day celebration in 1965, Lost Dutchman Days has grown into a major-premier event with a core three-day schedule of associated events that attract 30,000 spectators.
The 2013 version of Lost Dutchman Days continues to be “the fun place to be for all ages.” This 49th Annual Event has 3 days of Professional Rodeo action, aCarnival that features 30+ rides, and carnival attractions. The Parade viewing always a favorite and attracts thousands of spectators, who in 2011, were entertained with 152 entries. Don’t forget the Rodeo Dance, which is hailed as the old fashioned barn dance (less the barn). Thrown into all this action, entertainment for our spectators continues with two stages of FREE quality entertainment which provides continuous music daily for your pleasure and what would any event be without plenty of food and vendor booths to browse and drool over. And we will have plenty with over 100 setting up to keep you busy.
