Meeteets Wyoming National Day of the Cowboy
July 18, 2014 @ 8:00 am - July 20, 2014 @ 5:00 pm
July 18-20, 2014
Pull on your cowboy boots and grab your hat for the National Day of the Cowboy celebration in Meeteetse on July 18-20.
This is the ninth year Meeteetse has celebrated the event.
Weekend events are free to the public except the ranch rodeo at 1 p.m. Saturday, which costs $5, with kids 10 and younger free.
Other events include:
•6 p.m. Friday, outdoor exhibit at Meeteetse Museum; Miss “V” the Gypsy Cowbelle, and Packing the Mail will perform.
•7 p.m. Saturday, Bobby Chitwood plays for a dance at the Oasis Motel and RV Park.
•9 a.m. Sunday, group tour leaves to visit Double D Ranch where Miss “V” will perform again.
Event coordinator Tess Sremlin says the dance is the highlight of the weekend.
“The dance is a really great time,” she added. “Because of the community and our ranch lifestyle, we barely have time to get together. The dance is a time to catch up with neighbors.”
Sremlin is looking forward to the celebration.
“I can’t wait,” she said. “This is a great time for the community and everyone else to come together and have some fun.”
