National Day of the Cowboy Celebration – Duncan, Oklahoma
July 25, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
FreeCelebrate National Day of the Cowboy 2020 with us, Saturday, July 25. Our theme this year is “Young’Uns on the Trail.”
Doors open at 10 a.m. This is the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center’s 10th year to host this event.
Tentative schedule includes an art project for youth, live music by the Cowboys at Heart Band and exhibits. Una Belle Townsend, an Oklahoma children’s author, who was here in 2018, will return for this year’s celebration. She is author of “Grady’s in the Silo” which is based on a true story of Grady the cow who was stuck in an Oklahoma silo. We currently carry a few of her books in our gift shop, including “The Oklahoma Land Run.” Townsend will have copies of her newest book, Ben and The Missing Pony when she is here in July.
Beat the heat and spend the day indoors with us for the annual National Day of the Cowboy celebration! It’s a free day – all day – at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center, in Duncan, Oklahoma! Games, music, entertainment. Oklahoma author, Kristi Eaton, and Oklahoma basket weaver, Pauline Asbury, will be here, along with other Oklahoma guests!
